Georgia Historical Society Trustees Gala

Georgia Historical Society Trustees Gala

This weekend was one for the books!   I had the opportunity to DJ for the absolute most elite group of folks in Georgia!     The event was the Georgia Historical Society Trustee Gala in Savannah!    This was a STAR STUDDED event!!!

The event is held every year to induct the absolute highest achieving residents in Georgia into the Georgia Historical Society‘s hall of fame!     The theme changes yearly and this year’s theme was a Studio 54 type of Disco era dance party.    The setup was UNBELIEVABLE!    The dance-floor was lit a lit up checkerboard and the had complete LED lighting throughout the building and a massive sound system for me to play on!

Among the guests were the big dogs from Chic-Fil-A, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines and even legendary Georgia Football coach Vince Dooley.     There were 500 guest at the event and let me tell you, they were dressed to the T.      You couldn’t ask to spin in front of a more influential group of people!  I mean the GOVERNOR of Georgia introduced me as a complete surprise!   I couldn’t believe I here the governor say my name!!

Here is a quick except from the actual invitation to the Gala!

The 2017 Trustees Gala is the Georgia Historical Society’s premiere annual event and the

culmination of the 2016-2017 Georgia History Festival.

“Just My Imagination” is an event inspired by Georgia’s pioneering people and their trailblazing

ideas from the time of the founding to today with a nostalgic nod to the disco era.

The 2017 Trustees Gala will feature Governor Nathan Deal’s induction of F. Duane Ackerman,

Retired Chairman and CEO, BellSouth, and A.D. “Pete” Correll, Retired Chairman of Georgia-

Pacific and Chairman of the Grady Health Foundation, as the newest Georgia Trustees—joining an

impressive list of early to contemporary Georgians.

Each year, this elegant, black-tie and much-anticipated evening draws top local, state, and

national leaders to honor and pay tribute to the best the State of Georgia has produced.
